About the rescue

Hi, I'm Porsche, and I run a home-based rescue, trying to make a difference to the number of small animals being euthanased in pounds across NSW. The volunteers and foster carers at Porsche's Small Animal Rescue look after these animals along with their own pets, giving as much attention to them as possible. Although we love caring for them, it is by no means an income, and the small adoption fees do not cover the vet costs, medication, food and vegies, time spent with them, etc. Like many rescues, we have to earn a separate living and come home to 'rescue work'.

We attempt to contact people with enquiries as soon as we can and answer phone calls whenever possible. As you’d expect, we get quite attached to the animals, particularly when they’ve been with us for several months, and it is only natural for us to look for a home that can give the animal more, not less attention than they receive here. If you get frustrated by our screening process, just imagine being in our shoes! You can find out more about our committment to supporting responsible pet ownership at this page on our vision.

Until this rescue grows, we are based out of a private residence and visitation is by appointment only. When we have organized a time to meet, please be punctual. Our days are pretty busy and we might not be able to fit you in for another few days. If you’re running late, a phone call is appreciated. Please don’t wait to call at the exact time you’re supposed to be here. We do not have public toilets available, so please make sure you go before you come!

Hope you enjoy browsing through the information on this website. We have included some articles to answer questions that may arise about the care and wellbeing of your small animals. There is also a craft section with fun things to make for your pets. If you have any queries or messages, feel free to drop us a line.
